Owl and the Pussycat

This is my take on Edward Lear's quirky, "The Owl and the Pussycat". With an impending house move (ten more days to go!), I have been working on some bits and pieces for my daughter's new bedroom. I originally came up with the pistachio green colour (or should that be pea green?) version of the print...:

..then, while flicking through a local cooking mag, I came across this wonderful article with a beautiful photo of ice blocks/ice pops by a talented NZ photographer, Kieran Scott :

I loved the brightness and the freshness of the colours so I experimented with a couple of shades:

I was so pleased with the colour scheme that I decided to make all three available in the shop.

Note: I've also (intentionally!) included an "off-registered print" effect...a hat-tip to another great inspiration, the wonderful French poster designers/screenprinters, Lefor-Openo.

I was just wondering if you are going to do anymore prints (A4 size) of your other owls. Your green owl (from post "Seeing green" and your yellow owl (from your "Whew" post). I love the owls.

They're beautiful! The green is gorgeous. Pistachio is such a lovely word and colour.

I love Taste magazine, I have a few here, I wonder if they deliver internationally? That was a very inspiring picture. Yum!
