Prints Ahoy!

Finally, here's a long overdue update! My obsession with vintage Scandanavian textiles continues! This print was inspired by this book and particularly, this page:

I just love the use of "negative" space in the blocks of colour. So I thought I'd start small and came up with an A5 sized print based on this little guy. I am pleasantly surprised with the retro feel I have achieved. Also, since I was registering each colour manually, I ended up with each bird having its own unique expression:



I like this design so much that I'm thinking of running a turquoise and red edition...so we'll see...

This is just perfect. Your birds lend themselves so well to that Scandinavian style (and vice versa).
